The exit intent popup appears when visitors are about to leave your website.

It's your last chance to capture their attention and guide them toward an action.

Here's how to configure it.

Where to find this section

Go to Admin panel → Website → Home page tab, then scroll down to find the Exit intent popup card.

How the popup works

The popup triggers automatically when a visitor moves their cursor toward the browser's close button or address bar (desktop only). It only appears once per session to avoid annoying visitors.

What you can customize

Enable or disable the popup

At the top of the card, you'll find an Enable popup toggle. Turn it on to activate the popup on your website, or off to hide it completely.

Headline

This is the main attention-grabbing text visitors see first.

Good examples:

  • "Not sure which coaching is right for you?"

  • "Wait! Don't miss your free assessment"

  • "Before you go... got 60 seconds?"

Avoid:

  • "Don't leave!" (too aggressive)

  • Generic phrases without value

Description

A short explanation (2-3 sentences) that tells visitors what they'll get if they click.

Example: "Take my free quiz to get matched with the right program based on your goals and experience."

Social proof text

This adds credibility by showing that others have already taken action.

Examples:

  • "Join 1,000+ people who found their perfect program"

  • "500+ transformations and counting"

  • "Trusted by 200+ athletes"

The hint below this field reminds you to use real numbers for authenticity.

Value bullets (3 bullet points)

These are the key reasons visitors should stay.

Focus on:

  1. Speed → "Takes less than 60 seconds"

  2. Ease → "No email or sign-up required"

  3. Value → "Personalized recommendation based on your goals"

Each bullet appears with a checkmark in the popup preview.

Button text

The call-to-action text on the main button.

Good examples:

  • "Find my perfect program"

  • "Take the free quiz"

  • "Get my free assessment"

Keep it action-oriented and benefit-focused.

Button link

Where visitors go when they click the button.

Common destinations:

  • /your-username/tools/coaching-selector → Your coaching selector tool

  • https://calendly.com/your-link → External booking page

  • /your-username#services → Jump to services section

Tip: Linking to a free tool or quiz works better than a direct purchase page.

Using AI to improve your popup

Above the settings card, you'll see an "Improve with AI" button.

Click it to have Dwayne AI suggest optimized content for your popup based on your coaching style and audience.

This uses 1 AI credit.

Preview your popup

At the bottom of the section, you'll see a live preview of exactly how your popup will look.

The preview updates in real-time as you edit each field.

The preview shows:

  • The "Wait! Before you go..." badge

  • Your headline and description

  • Social proof with the people icon

  • All 3 value bullets with checkmarks

  • Your CTA button

  • The dismiss link ("No thanks, I'll figure it out myself")

Save and publish

  1. Click Save changes to save your popup settings

  2. A success message confirms your changes are saved

  3. Click Publish in the top bar to make changes live on your website

  4. Confirm the publish action

Best practices

Do:

  • Keep headlines short and question-based

  • Use real numbers in social proof (even small ones work)

  • Link to low-commitment actions (quiz, assessment, free resource)

  • Focus value bullets on speed, ease, and personalization

Don't:

  • Use aggressive language like "Don't leave!"

  • Link directly to a payment page

  • Write paragraphs—keep everything scannable

  • Make promises you can't keep
