Congratulations on setting up your coaching website! 🎉
This guide will walk you through publishing your website so your clients can see it live at coach.gymkee.io/your-username.
Understanding Draft vs. Published
Before we dive in, here's something important to know:
Your website has two versions:
Version | What it means |
Draft | Your working copy. Changes you make are saved here automatically. Only you can see this. |
Published | The live version your clients see. You control when this updates. |
💡 Think of it like a Google Doc vs. a printed document.
You can edit the doc all you want, but people only see the printed version when you decide to print it.
How to Publish Your Website
Step 1: Make sure you're happy with your changes
Navigate through your admin panel and review:
✅ Your homepage content (hero, about, services)
✅ Your tools page settings
✅ Your footer and social links
Step 2: Look for the orange notification bar
When you have unpublished changes, you'll see an orange bar at the top of your admin panel showing:
"You have X unpublished changes"
This is your reminder that your live website doesn't match what you see in the admin.
Step 3: Click "Publish"
Click the "Publish" button in the orange bar.
A confirmation dialog will appear.
Step 4: Add an optional note (recommended)
You can add a short note describing what you changed, like:
"Updated pricing for summer"
"Added new testimonials"
"Changed hero image"
This helps you track your changes over time.
Step 5: Confirm publication
Click "Publish now" and wait a few seconds.
Your changes are now live! 🚀
Checking Your Live Website
After publishing, visit your website to see the changes:
Open a new browser tab
Go to coach.gymkee.io/your-username
You should see your updated content
💡 Pro tip: Use an incognito/private window to see exactly what your clients see (without any cached data).
Common Questions
Q: I saved my changes but my website didn't update. Why?
Saving and publishing are different actions:
Auto-save: Happens automatically as you edit (saves to your draft)
Publish: You must click the Publish button to make changes live
Q: Can I undo a publication?
Currently, you cannot roll back to a previous version.
We recommend reviewing your changes carefully before publishing.
Q: How often should I publish?
Publish whenever you want clients to see your updates.
Some trainers publish daily, others weekly.
There's no limit!
Q: What if I don't see the orange "unpublished changes" bar?
This means your draft and published versions are identical. Either:
You haven't made any changes since your last publish
You're viewing your website for the first time (publish once to set it up)
