There are no great fitness results without proper nutrition.
That’s why, on Gymkee, you can share nutrition plans and guidance with your clients.
To do this, you simply need to have the feature activated.
If you’ve never tried it, you get a 14-day free trial to test it out for yourself.
And if you’re not yet offering Nutrition, we recommend you watch this video:
Create a Nutrition program on Gymkee
Go to the “Nutrition” section.
Once there, you’ll be taken directly to the “Program” category.
From this page, simply click on “Create a new program.”
You’ll then see the creation menu appear:
You can configure each of these settings.
Some are required and most are optional.
Here are the different fields:
Nutrition Program Creation Settings
Import from a template (optional)
The first time this will be empty, but the more you use Gymkee, the more this feature will save you time.
You have the ability to save your nutrition plans as templates so you can reuse them with different clients without having to rebuild everything from scratch.
Program name (required)
This is one of the two required fields.
You can name your program however you like.
PS: This name will be visible to the client.
Client (optional)
Here you can choose your client even before sending the program.
This will let you access their data while you’re creating their plan.
If you don’t choose the client here, that’s fine — you can select them later when sending the nutrition plan.
Start date and number of weeks (required)
This is the second required field to create a program.
You’ll be able to set the program’s start date for your client as well as its duration in weeks.
Periodization (optional)
If you work in cycles and periods, you can set that here to track your clients’ cycles more precisely.
Description (optional)
Here you can add a description to your program to provide more details and context to your clients.
It’s optional, but we recommend you take the time to do it to improve your client’s overall experience.
Video (optional)
Here you can add a video.
In today’s content-driven world, this block is often underestimated by coaches, yet it’s a very powerful tool.
In addition to the description, you can include a video of several minutes explaining the program and providing context.
Very useful if you want to deliver a premium coaching experience.
Thumbnail (optional)
Same principle as the video: you can skip it, but we recommend adding it.
Every extra detail enhances your client’s coaching experience and helps strengthen your brand.
Tags (optional)
Tags are useful for organizing and filtering your programs more effectively.
Views in the Nutrition Program Builder
When you open a nutrition program, you’ll have several display options depending on what you prefer:
Week: the default view, showing one week at a time
Day: focus on a specific day (e.g., all Mondays)
2 weeks: compare and work on 2 weeks side by side
Month: view the entire month at once
By default, the display is set to Week view.
Depending on your working method, you can switch between these views to work as efficiently as possible.
Create a meal with details (foods)
To create your first meal day and open the nutrition meal builder, simply hover over a day to see the “Create a meal” button.
(You can also click on the small “+” button available on each day).
Once you click, you’ll enter the nutrition plan builder.
Dessus, il y a plusieurs éléments.
On this screen, there are several elements:
On the left side, you’ll find the list of foods and products.
Foods → raw items (e.g., Chicken, Oats)
Products → barcode items (e.g., Doritos, Quaker Oats)
There are over 5 million foods and products available for you to build your nutrition plans.
Alongside our own database, any coach on Gymkee can add their own foods and products.
You too can add a new food to the database by clicking the “+” button and entering the values.
Even with the best intentions, some foods or products added by other coaches may not always be accurate.
That’s why most foods display a certification badge.
All items with this badge are verified and safe — you can use them in your plans with confidence.
In addition to foods and products, you can also use recipes.
Click on “Foods” and switch to “Recipes”
You’ll then see over 100 healthy recipes we’ve added, ready to use in your meal plans.
If you’ve created your own recipes, you’ll also find them here, listed at the very top.
Now that you know everything you can use, let’s move on to creating your first nutrition plans.
Create a complete nutrition program
Adding foods and products to your meal plan
The first way to create a daily meal plan is by building it meal by meal, with maximum detail.
Start by typing the food you want to add to your plan in the search bar.
You’ll then see all matching results in the list on the left.
On the right, you’ll find the meal area where your meals will be built.
To create your first meal, simply click on the food item or drag & drop it into the meal area.
By default, this will automatically create the first meal and name it “Breakfast.”
Meals are created with default names in this order:
1st meal → Breakfast
2nd meal → Snack 1
3rd meal → Lunch
4th meal → Snack 2
5th meal → Dinner
6th meal and beyond → Snack
You can of course rename each meal, change the emoji, or even add a custom picture.
On Gymkee, you can also add branded products to your nutrition plans.
To do this, run a specific product search.
If the right result doesn’t appear in the first search, you can run an advanced search by clicking the button just below the results list (sometimes it may appear at the very bottom).
Once you’ve found the right product, simply drag & drop it into a meal.
After adding multiple foods, you’ll see your meals structured like this:
Each meal is listed with its foods and their macros.
You can click on a meal to expand details and edit the foods as needed.
Adding recipes to your meal plan
As we saw earlier, you can add Gymkee’s healthy recipes or the ones you’ve personally created into a nutrition plan.
Just like with a food or a product, simply click on the recipe or drag & drop it into the right-hand side of the screen.
Once added, you’ll see the recipe appear with:
The default portion size
The corresponding macros
The number of portions = the number of servings of the recipe.
👉 Example: 2 portions = for 2 people.
You can adjust this value to fit your client’s needs — for instance, set it to 1 portion for a single serving.
Meal Alternatives
On Gymkee, we give you the flexibility to adapt to each client and make their nutrition plan easier to follow.
For every meal of the day, you can create one or several alternatives.
That means you can prepare multiple versions of the same meal and let your client choose which one they want to follow.
To add an alternative, simply click on the button here:
Once inside, you’ll see the base meal at the top. You can open it to review all the foods it contains while you create alternatives.
To add an alternative, just drag a food item into this section:
Your alternative meals will appear right under the base meal.
You can add as many alternatives as you want.
Once you’ve added meal alternatives, you’ll see a small badge appear above the alternatives button, showing the total number of added meals.
When a meal is complete, it will automatically appear in your program as a Draft.
The status will only change once you send it to a client.
Create a Meal Plan with a Daily Calorie Goal
The second way to create meals on Gymkee is by setting a daily calorie and macro goal.
Here, instead of detailing every meal with specific foods, you give your clients a calorie target with macros to hit.
When you arrive on the meal creation page, before adding any food, you’ll see this option:
👉 Click "Set a goal"
Once you click, a few things will appear where you can set:
Calories
Proteins, Carbs, and Fats
On Gymkee, there’s a clear order to follow:
Start with calories – define the total kcal for the day.
Then, define the macros.
For macros, you have two options:
Set the goal in grams
Or set the goal in percentages
Begin with protein (purple).
Then move on to carbs (blue).
Finish with fats (red).
If you adjust protein:
you’ll notice the other macros automatically adapt to stay aligned with the total calories you set.
Later, if you modify the total calorie goal, the macros will readjust automatically according to the percentages you defined.
Once everything is set, you’ll see your day displayed with the calorie target like this:
Copy & Paste a Daily Meal Plan
Once you’ve created your first meals, you can quickly fill in the rest of the week… without having to redo everything!
On Gymkee, you can copy a meal plan from one day and paste it into another.
To do this, click on the “Copy” icon here:
You’ll see a confirmation notification at the bottom of your screen letting you know the meal plan has been copied.
Once copied, hover over the day where you want to paste the plan. A new button will appear: “Paste meal plan”.
Click it, and the exact same plan will be imported into that day.
Everything you created will be copied over: the name, description, thumbnail, all meals, and even the meal alternatives.
This works the exact same way for calorie-goal days. Just like with detailed meals, you can copy a day that only contains a calorie and macro goal.
Use the same “Copy” button.
Then hover over the day where you want to paste. You’ll see the “Paste meal plan” option appear.
You can go even further with your programs.
If you’re building a multi-week plan, you can save even more time once your first week is ready.
Not only can you copy and paste meal plans… you can duplicate an entire week into the following weeks.
For example: if you’ve built a 12-week program with the same nutrition goals, instead of copying and pasting day by day or week by week, you can duplicate everything in just 2 clicks.
Duplicate a template week across multiple weeks of the program in 2 clicks
Here I have my first week:
Here I have the 2nd one, which is empty:
To duplicate my first week to the other weeks of the program, I can click on the "Repeat" button right here:
You’ll see a pop-up open that will let you set up your duplication with the frequency of duplication as well as the action to take in case there are already meal plans present:
You can duplicate your week:
The following week: your week will only be duplicated onto the next week
Every 2 weeks: your week will be duplicated on 1 week out of 2 (1, 3, 5, 7, etc.)
All the upcoming weeks: your week will be duplicated on all the weeks of your program (ex: if 12 weeks, across 12 weeks)
Then, you’ll need to choose what Gymkee should do if meal plans are already present in the destination weeks.
The choices you have:
Replace: if a meal plan is already there, it will be deleted and replaced by the one you’re duplicating now
Keep both: if a meal plan is already there, it won’t be replaced and the new meal plan will be added (there will be 2)
Do not duplicate: if a meal plan is already there, the new meal plan will not be added
Export your program as a Template (reusable model)
Once you’ve created your program, you have the option to save it as a template so you can reuse it later.
C'est d'ailleurs ce qu'on te recommande de faire.
The best coaches on Gymkee save most of their new programs as templates, naming them according to the client’s profile so they can reuse them with another similar client.
To save a program as a template on Gymkee, it’s super simple:
Click on the button at the top right of the screen “Save as a template”
A pop-up will open where you can give a name to your template program:
Then, all you need to do is click on “Export as a template”
You’ll then find it in the “Template” category in the list of your nutrition programs.
Send the nutrition program to your client
Once your program is finalized, you’ll be able to send it to your client, who will receive it directly on their mobile app.
Click on the button at the top right “Send”
Then, simply choose the client you want to send the nutrition plan to:
⚠️ For the client to appear here, they must have already created their Gymkee account. Also, if the account was created while you were working on the program, you just need to refresh the page to see them appear.
